Folks, the American public seems to be suffering from a mass delusion that Obama's "Health Care Reform Bill" will somehow make medical care free and available to all. Nothing could be further from the truth. Like they say, there's no such thing as a free lunch. Somebody's gonna pay, and who will it be? You and me, of course.
Dr. Gary North, economic historian, has looked into this question, and here are some of his observations about this latest boondoggle out of the Obama White House:

The complete text of H.R. 3200 is here. You will not read all 1017 pages. Neither has your Congressman. Neither have your Senators. Neither has the President.
This is why, on July 31, when the bill finally was voted out of committee, House Democrats were handed a card with the "good" highlights, so that they could memorize them. Then they were asked by Nancy Pelosi to go back to their districts and persuade voters to support the bill. She told them: "The president of the United States will be out front as the drum major. We will be the drumbeat across America."
I march to the beat of a different drum.
Here are some of the bad highlights. After you read them, you will begin to see what you will be facing if this bill passes.
As you read each of them, ask yourself two questions: (1) What will be the effect on the supply of future physicians? (2) What will be the effect on the demand for medical services?

Pg 22 of the HC Bill mandates the Government will audit books of all employers that self insure.
Pg 30 Sec 123 of HC bill — a Government committee (good luck with that!) will decide what treatments/benefits a person may receive.
Pg 29 lines 4-16 in the HC bill — YOUR HEALTHCARE WILL BE RATIONED!
Pg 42 of HC Bill — The Health Choices Commissioner will choose your HC Benefits for you.
PG 50 Section 152 in HC bill -- HC will be provided to ALL non US citizens, illegal or otherwise.
Pg 58 HC Bill -- Government will have real-time access to individual's finances and a National ID Healthcard will be issued!
Pg 59 HC Bill lines 21-24 -- Government will have direct access to your bank accts for election funds transfer.
PG 65 Sec 164 is a payoff subsidized plan for retirees and their families in Unions & community organizations (read: ACORN).
Pg 72 Lines 8-14 Government will create an HC Exchange to bring private HC plans under Government control.
PG 91 Lines 4-7 HC Bill -- Government mandates linguistic appropriate services. Example -- Translation for illegal aliens.
Pg 95 HC Bill Lines 8-18 -- The Government will use groups, i.e. ACORN & Americorps, to sign up individuals for Government HC plan.
PG 85 Line 7 HC Bill -- Specifics of Benefit Levels for Plans. AARP members -- your Health care WILL be rationed.

Pg 239 Line 14-24 HC Bill -- Government will reduce physician services for Medicaid. Seniors, low income, poor affected.
Pg 241 Line 6-8 HC Bill -- Doctors (doesn't matter what specialty) will all be paid the same.
PG 253 Line 10-18 -- Government sets value of Doctor's time, professional judgment, etc. Literally, value of humans.
PG 265 Sec 1131 -- Government mandates & controls productivity for private HC industries.
Pg 317 L 13-20 -- PROHIBITION on ownership/investment. Government tells Doctors what/how much they can own.
Pg 317-318 lines 21-25,1-3 -- PROHIBITION on expansion -- Government will mandate hospitals cannot expand.
Pg 354 Sec 1177 -- Government will RESTRICT enrollment of Special needs people!
PG 425 Lines 4-12 -- Government mandates Advance Care Planning Consultations. Think Senior Citizens end of life prodding.
PG 425 Lines 22-25, 426 Lines 1-3 -- Government provides approved list of end of life resources, guiding you in how to die.
PG 427 Lines 15-24 -- Government mandates program for orders for end of life. The Government has a say in how your life ends.
PG 429 Lines 10-12 -- "advanced care consultation" may include an ORDER for end of life plans. AN ORDER from the Government to end a life!
Page 472 Lines 14-17 -- PAYMENT TO COMMUNITY-BASED ORGANIZATION. 1 monthly payment to a community-based organization. (Like ACORN?)

Dr. North now tells us what to do to be prepared. Dr. Brocato recommends doing everything you know to stay in good health and avoid going to doctors, but if you do need regular doctor visits, he suggests you consider doing as Dr. North suggests.
Ten Things You Had Better Do Within 30 Days After ObamaCare Becomes Law

The health care bill is over 1,000 pages long. We can expect this to multiply ten-fold after it becomes law because of the detailed rules governing its implementation and enforcement. These will be published in the Federal Register from the month it is passed until the collapse of the economy.
Three things are sure: (1) the supply of physicians will decline as retired physicians are not replaced; (2) the demand for health care will rise; (3) the cost of the program will grow faster than predicted, forever.
You must find ways to get the treatment you need, when you need it, at a price you can afford, even if the official rules don't let you get this care. You must learn ways to bend the rules.
This list is preliminary.
Build a good relationship with a physician. When rationing comes, as it will, you must find non-monetary ways to get to the front of the line. Personal relationships will help. If your physician says you should get treatment, you are more likely to get it.
Send your physician an occasional low-cost gift that would not be regarded as a bribe. Twice a year is sufficient. If you see a book, especially a used book -- cheap -- that he/she might like, buy it and send it to his/her home. Enclose a note that says, "This may interest you." Find out what his/her hobby is. Shop accordingly.
Each marriage partner should have a different physician. When physicians stop taking new patients, they will probably make exceptions for a patient's family member. This strategy doubles the likelihood of getting treatment when you need it.
Don't use walk-in clinics, even if they are cheap. Give your business to your primary care physician. Become a familiar face.
Get in and out fast. Don't waste his time. He gets paid per treatment. Be friendly, but make sure he knows that you know his time is valuable. Always say, "I don't want to waste your time."
Schedule appointments as far out as you can, so that you can schedule them as early in the morning as possible. You want to get there before the crowd. ObamaCare will increase the size of the crowds.
Pay with credit card, not insurance, for routine visits. He wants fast payment. Tell him when you get treated that this is your policy unless he specifies otherwise. Let him decide. He gets paid faster this way. This will cost you more, but you identify yourself as a preferred patient.
Find physicians who operate outside the insurance system: third party-free practice. Their practices are geared to people with money. They have more latitude than the typical insurance. They are not in Medicare. They are not easy to find. Find one. My wife has. She found her physician through ACAM.
Identify your most likely big-expense treatment, and change your lifestyle to minimize the risk. Everyone knows the risks: bad diet, smoking, alcohol, no exercise. Change your lifestyle.
Begin to research the availability of medical treatment in third-world countries. This can be far cheaper for major elective surgery. If, under the new system, you are asked to wait a year or more for surgery, go abroad. If you must hire a translator, do it. Physicians in India speak English. Caribbean physicians do, too. This will become more common within a few years after ObamaCare becomes law.

Americans, too many of whom seem to believe in the "free lunch" scenario, think that Obama's health care reform bill will give them what they want and will make somebody else pay for it. This is Canadian medicine in action. If you don't have a private physician -- and it's hard to find one that still accepts new clients -- you are in big trouble.

The Web is great. This is home brew video at its best.
As with any scarce resource, people can allocate it multiple ways: by price competition ("high bid wins"), by first come-first served ("line up"), by reciprocal favors, by ration coupons.
The first lets consumers decide. It also signals suppliers of profit opportunities for shifting production. Rationing does not. Standing in line does not.
There are no free lunches. When governments allocate health care, they ration it by standing in line, i.e., sitting in a waiting room.

Rich people can buy what they want. They can fly abroad. Middle-class people will pay with time. The poor will, too. But the value of their time is low.
If any version of the Obama health care bill gets into law, it will be as politically irreversible as Medicare. The 1,000 pages of rules will multiply in The Federal Register.
It will be a regulatory field day for bureaucrats. American medicine will not recover until the Federal government goes bankrupt. It's not that medical care will collapse overnight. The system will just become less responsive and more bureaucratic. It will start to look like Canadian medical care.
Public support for this program is beginning to fade as parts of its 1,000 pages get more publicity. This is why the President is pushing for passage before the end of August. In his campaign, he promised to sign such a law in his first term. He has speeded up the timetable.

Folks, let "TANSTAAFL" become your new motto: "There ain't no such thing as a free lunch." You will pay, either with your time or with your money. The government doesn't care. It also does not care whether you live or die, and if you die, that's one less annoyance for the bureaucrats who will be administering this boondoggle.
Hmmm. Maybe this is all a part of the big New World Order plan, designed to reduce the population. Kong thinks Obamacare might work better at reducing the population than any other plan this bunch can come up with.
